Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson, Steve Earle, Michael Stipe, Peter Gabriel and Bob Geldof will appear in Get Up, Stand Up: The Story of Pop and Protest, a documentary about the history of protest music, to air September 28th on PBS.

Let’s hear it for PUBLIC TV!! No idea whether it will air in Europe or when – sorry….

Also, there is news that the Eden folks are starting to talk about holding Africa Calling 2, because of all the response they got from Africa Calling there for Live 8. Here is the story on that – until then, Watch. This. Space. heh.

This months track is a demo from around 1998. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s vocal from the VH1 honours concert performance is already in place and inspiring Peter to explore new grooves and vocal harmonies, but the strings to be heard on the final version released on ‘UP’ were as yet unrealised.
