Another article about Filter.

From the article:

“The first wave of the digital revolution was about the freedom of choice, trying to make everything accessible to anyone, anyplace, anytime. I think the second wave will be about freedom from choice. It will be able to filter and focus so that you get more of what you want,” said Peter Gabriel, Investor and solo artist.

This week in Peter Gabriel History

It has been a slow week for Peter Gabriel news.

A look back in history:

August 16, 1975:
Genesis lead singer Peter Gabriel announced to the British press that he was leaving the band. He had actually made the decision months earlier, but decided to wait until the band had completed its tour obligations.

August 12-14 1994:
More than 350,000 people jammed into a concert site near Saugerties, New York, for the three-day Woodstock ’94. Security was overwhelmed and many people got in without paying. Among the headliners were Peter Gabriel, Bob Dylan, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. .

Hi there!

Now that you’ve all had time to read MacCat’s goodbye note, I thought I’d step in an introduce myself to those of you who don’t know me. I am Jakks and I am a huge Peter Gabriel fan. Through times of thick and times of thin, my love for his music and my respect for the man has remained a constant.

Like most of you who are reading this, I’m a long-time reader of the Hill and a poster on the forums. MacCat had mentioned to me three years ago that she might be giving the site away and I like to think I helped talk her out of it for a while (though the real thanks should probably go to Ralf!).

Now, however, she has given the site away and I offered to host it and keep it going. I’d like to not only keep it going, but make it the best it has ever been. A lot of people have come forward to become a part of the team and MacCat still writes to me with great advice on how to make this place your first stop for PG news.

In the coming days I’ll be introducing new members of the Solsbury Hill team and revealing a new contest in the forums, so check back often.

Hi MacCat’s Mom!

Gabrielfully,
